Moonlight

by Matt Carroll   Jul 22, 2017

You finally found your way to me last night
As we lie in bed, so blissfully I held you close and tight
You looked into my eyes and asked to never let you go
As the moonlight shined upon us you leaned in to kiss me, soft and slow

I promised you right then and there, you had nothing to fear
I'd stay and see to it that you never shed another tear
Lay your head upon my chest and hear the beating of my heart
For it beats for you and you alone, and breaks when we're apart

The moonlight cast our silhouettes against the bedroom wall
Bringing light to this perfect moment in which both of us did fall
Neither the lilies on the nightstand, nor the candles gentle flicker
Could distract me from your beauty or stop my heart from pounding quicker

Lost inside this moment, I wouldn't trade for anything
As the sun began to rise and all the birds did sweetly sing
I finally found my better half, my love, so it would seem
When I opened up my eyes to find that it had all been just a dream

Sad that it ended as a dream...it was sensual and flowing with so much love...moments captured in here are beautiful.

Well hey, dreams sometimes come true, right? I can hope ????
I thought that if I remembered it vividly enough, I should write it down and make it into something.

Dreams do come true or else every one would have stopped dreaming. :-) Awww.. vividly remembering.. that happens for special things.

She's quite special...worth every syllable and sentence that my heart pours out for her.
