the march of the brave

by Poet on the Piano   Jul 23, 2017

they condemn us with bibles
pictures of fiery pits
threats of God's wrath,
not realizing we are full
of nothing but light

they shame and scowl
while we smile and embrace,
no one should
hide their pride

so, we march on

blocking hate
with acts of love,
hearing hearts
open up
without a hint of fear

so, we march on

our city glows
in more than rainbow tones,
I sing as families unite
"you are loved beyond belief"
shouted from the heavens

and so, the march never dies
led by the truth of who we are

When people have so much passion and love to give and to declare, nothing - not even religion - should knock them from their course. March on, good woman!
Wonderful piece and all the very best,
    Ben
