A Small Mystery

by Mortal Utopia   Jul 24, 2017

I don’t know why
the light you shone
(and perhaps forgot about)
still shines so brightly
in my heart.

I don’t know why
the warmth you gave
(I still feel it now)
was all I needed
to smile.

I don’t know why
the world we once shared
(although I’m starting to forget it now)
seemed so much more colourful
than the one I now see.

A sensitive piece that captures well the aftermath of a broken relationship. Most enjoyable read x

The breaking of this kind of relationship can leave the best of us feeling devoid of colour and warmth. The heart is a fragile thing indeed.
    Excellent write.
