It kills me...

by Meena Krish   Jul 28, 2017

I can withstand
the ill words
which spatters
from uncaring lips

can shut the
windows to keep
rumors from
eating me

(what doesn’t kill me makes me stronger)

I can endure
the pain of
those who have
cast me aside

can cry away
the hurt
which follows
like a shadow

(what doesn’t kill me makes me stronger)

But…

what kills
me the most
is your
fixed silence

which no
medicine,
money or
magic
can restore

This poem is like an arrow, it goes directly into my heart and I can feel what you have tried to express.

And it's true that no medicine, money or magic can restore.

Meena, this is a raw sad write. When someone shuts you out it's brutal. There's a lot of abuse a person can take, which is obvious by your write, but silence...that's a tough one. Hugs to you-

Beautiful write, I know silence squeezes the heart into speaking. Very good poetry

Aww. Agree with both. A sad write that really gripped me, Meena, in such a breathtaking pace. And we missed your works!
