The Darkness Behind The Light

by CJ Maleney   Jul 31, 2017

I am a thing that does not sleep.
The thing that does not embrace the light.
The thing that binds the memories you keep
I'm the thing that makes you fight.

I'm the darkens that you hold within,
The memories that you won't share.
Try as you must, deny my existence,
But you know I'm always there.

You may try to push me back inside!
To lock me in my cage,
But where would you be this day?
If you never called upon my rage?

Why is it you are still here?
When some would hide or flee or die?
I am the strongest part of your persona!
Your anger, fight and fire

I know that you abhor, and hate me,
I will never be pure is true,
I'm the dark, the fight behind the light.

! In essence !

We are our own enemies, our own judge and executioner!
No matter how hard we try to run away we follow us like the
    past a nightmare...this is deep...

    take care

      Hey Meena

You got it mostly but it's more about trying to accept who you are.

We all have those dark days and yet somehow we continue. We parade our lovely smiles when we feel something else inside.

It's about that bit of us all that says "No"
That bit that gets angry, and sometimes we need to be.

I do consider myself a philanthropist but sometimes you just gotta be angry, sometimes you need to call on the dark just to get through.
