White Funeral

by Larry Chamberlin   Aug 1, 2017

She wore white to his funeral
some say it was the same dress
she wore at their wedding
with the veils gone and unpress'd

They left the reception so happy
met the end of a police chase
head on with the suspect's car
he took the blow to his own face

So two days after standing to "I do"
heart's sinking at the same altar;
never a wife, ever a blushing bride
just needs to get through without falter.

    How terrible. To have all the joy of that happy day with so much to look forward to but then to have it all ripped away

    A sad piece of writing of loss.
    Same dress for sadness and what was meant to be joy.
    Well done
