Broken

by Matt Carroll   Aug 4, 2017

Into this place, so dark and dreary
My soul has wandered, weak and weary
Tear stained face, a heart so broken
A love unanswered, no words spoken

Hands are shaking, just reaching out
My cries for help ignored, no doubt
Drowning in this pain and sorrow
No longer hopeful of tomorrow

Pain consumes like fire and ice
No other's touch could now suffice
To heal the damage, cuts so deep
Their scars forever, secrets keep

Wings are severed, spirit shackled
All these fears remain un-tackled
Why won't you save me, what did I do
But give all myself, my love to you...

Definitely a great piece, Matt, your rhyming here was very well managed and it flowed really well because it came from your heart. Was a really beautiful, powerful piece.
