Appreciating nature

by mysticalpisces   Aug 5, 2017

As I walk my dog through the isolated fields,
I embrace the nature surrounding me
enveloping me in it's astounding beauty.
I stand in the refreshing rain,
a downpour of blissfulness
entwined with the sun
shedding it's divine light onto me.
I begin to ponder with my thoughts
I think to myself-
how can humans be so inhumane?
Destroying something so natural and beautiful
for their own gratification,
twisted satisfaction.
They say too much of anything is bad for you,
I say this excludes nature.
Mother Earth is crying out for help,
but her cries go unnoticed.
What a harsh reality we live in,
fuelled by greed
and the disturbing need for power,
a lack of respect for our mother.
So as I continue to stroll with the greenery,
the golden globe beams it's rays through the clouds above me,
providing me with a warm and welcoming blanket
enlightening me with the knowledge
that they know I am among the minority
who appreciate.

I think you've expressed yourself very well here. It captures a moment..some do experience... Like a one with nature or appreciation for nature. For some it lasts only for a small duration of time. Lovely write!

Mystic you seem to have a really good grasp of what's around you. This was an insightful write...very beautiful and remarkable considering this concern for nature came from a girl of your age.
