Homecoming:

by Scott Cole   Aug 6, 2017

Dedicated to Gary (Hammer) Hodges!!! 1966-2016

I'm so thankful for all the time
That God blessed me and you,
Nineteen wonderful years together
Our memories still stick like glue.

Though your not by my side now
You'll forever live inside my heart,
Cause you still are my Whole Life
And I still am your sweetheart.

Your sudden death was unexpected
And I still wish you were here,
To cradle me and comfort me
Like only you could my dear.

So I look to the Heavens
With a big smile on my face,
A mixture of happy emotions
Because I know now you are safe.

I thank God for you Big Bird
But he always knows what's best,
He has bigger plans for you
That me and Leo could've guessed.

So keep your head up my Gary
Cause I know now you are fine,
Though you are just a simple man
Your kindness it always did shine.

So put the Hammer down my love
On those Golden streets above,
And know you want always ride alone
Cause one day baby I'm coming home.
