Little Red Sunset:

by Scott Cole   Aug 8, 2017

(A tribute to Prince)

I guess I should have known
By the way you were speeding away
That it wouldn't last
See your the kinda person
That believes in showing off once
And then fading into the past

I guess I must be blind
Cause you had a pocket full of joy
Sunshine that's always in bloom
But it was Saturday night
I guess that makes it alright
And you said what have I got to lose
And I say

Little red sunset
Baby your sinking fast
Little red sunset
You need a glow that's gonna last.

I guess I shouldn't stared
When you fell upon my face
And your sunshine I could not see
Cause I felt a little ill
When I saw you we're dying
And your life flashed before me.

Believe it or not
I started to worry
I wondered if you were gonna last
But it was Saturday night
I guess that makes it alright
And I said baby
Your running out of gas
Oh yeah.

Little red sunset
Baby your falling fast
Yes you are
Little red sunset
You need you a way
That's gonna last
Ah huh

A beauty such as you
Should never hang your head
Cause you brighten up everything
So hang on baby
Oh yes indeed
I'm gonna enjoy your passing scene

Little red sunset
Honey you got to slow down
Little red sunset
Cause if you don't your gonna run your
Little red sunset in the ground

Yes right into the ground
You, you, you got to
Slow it down
Your moving much too fast
You need to find a way you can last

Baby your much too fast
Little red sunset
You need an idea, you need a day that's
That's gonna last

Little red sunset
Baby you got to slow down
Little red sunset
Cause if you don't, Cause if you don't
Your gonna run your body in the ground
Right into the ground
Right into the ground

Little red sunset
