like a haunted house
that is up for rent
because you don't want to live here anymore
but you want to be able to say
I own this
this is mine

I really like that the poem continues on from the title. This poem is bittersweet. I'm assuming you're writing about a relationship that's on the rocks, or on the verge of moving on; where you still have love for the other person, but for whatever reason, things just won't work out (or possibly you don't want to attempt to fix it). You portrayed that in such a unique perspective. Thank you for sharing. :)

I like the simile used here and the idea of you being a big, empty and haunted building with no life left in it and purely existing for someone to have the bragging rights of ownership, despite not caring enough about it to live there themselves. A sad write but a clever one.

    All the best
