Ashes of Pain

by Domenico Sottile   Aug 13, 2017

After sunset on this old chair
with the lights low
I listen to vibrations
of aged harmonies
My diary ends here

Beyond the window
the high tide extinguishes the fire of the rocks
and the memory that separates us
My void is the embrace
of your absence

From this fatuous desire
and vexing
to embrace your subtle forms once more
I doze away as if for ever
postponing the duties
that still await me
But I shall never parch
with the ashes of my pain

This is pain so beautifully expressed. I love the flow! Great work.
