The Leaves Used to Chatter

by Domenico Sottile   Aug 14, 2017

Once in a street they had a house
Once they had a family
Now they are nothing but memories

Vengeance and confusion
like the wind
took it all away
No longer leaves chattering under the sun
and stars twinkling at Christmas

Once they had a Christmas tree
Now fragile echoes of carols
muffled by the wind

The whole meaning of this poem describes in these lines

    Vengeance and confusion
    like the wind
    took it all away.

Wherever are these two(vengeance and confusion) , love never stays for long and where love goes, peace follows it.

Such a sad write, a lot of longing for what used to be.

This is filled with sadness and nostalgia - not always a good thing in my opinion.

Nostalgia fills the air. Beautiful and heart wrenching at the same time. There is something so alive in this write...the title is beautifully crafted too.
