A Book with a Filthy Cover

by Maple Tree   Aug 16, 2017

Her eyes have become dull,
the whispers buried
the shine of her iris's
deep in the heart of darkness.

She travels crossed miles of earth
In hopes of ridding madness
from her shoulders, but they
continue to play with her veins
like a violin.

Her broken melody can be heard
for miles and miles; they continue
to believe her smile because they
ignore the dirt embedded in her
fingernails.

When a woman loses her soul
in just one hour, it's hard for
society to accept her sadness;
she dreams of slicing her throat
so she can be free from their hands
across her body.....

but she continues to breathe,
because she will never let them
win.

    Maple tree,

I know this was a hard piece for you its so personal and filled with sadness...... all I can say is I'm so proud of you for using your pen as loud voice for the world to hear. Each line speaks volumes of a deeply inflicted and shattered heart. This brave girl overcame a nightmare and is still breathing. Love this write, its so powerful. You go girlllllll!!!!
