Don't Cross The Street

by Glenn G   Aug 17, 2017

The darkness is in command of the night
Stingy with its essence of light
I can see you lurking in the shadows of love
And I can hear the song you sing
From your body, thereof
Sexy and shapely, tall and lean
In a spandex dress of neon green
Hair flowing with the gentle breeze
Consuming those around you with a frightening of ease

You remind me of my past
A burgeoning love I thought would last
She had it all going on
Right up 'til the day she was gone
I miss the touch of her hand, kiss of her lips
The grip of my hands on her slender hips
I’m still wounded, sore and my heart aches
I can hear every step your feet take
It terrifies me that we might meet
I sure hope you don’t cross the street

This is just cleverly fun...though it's about a lost love. Loved it.
