The Tightrope

by Kitty Cat Lady   Aug 20, 2017

My life it is a tightrope
This wire is slippy as hell
The balancing act is tricky
And I'm exhausted can't you tell

While everyone around me
Seems to stride along just fine
I've somehow got this narrow line
This knife edge in the sky

Damned if I do and also if I don't
I just can't catch a break
Living by decisions made
I have sealed my own fate

Maybe I should just submit
Accept defeat and fall
Wake up and smell the coffee
Read the writing on the wall

But dammit, I so hate to fail
I don't do giving in
So come on life! You do your worst!
But I'll never let you win!

Welcome! A very inspiring write, never give up! Nicely rhymed and flowed beautifully.

Inspirational! No matter how narrow that tightrope gets, never give up or lose balance...that's the easy option.
    All the best,

Wow, a warrior in here! Loved the strength in this...and nicely rhymed as well.
