You slowly walked into the room
You saw my eyes locked onto you
and through, they went straight through

So I looked on down at my shoes
Because I didn't know what I was doing
I had no clue

When I gathered myself again
I took hold of your trembling hand
and mine, it was trembling too

You said hey do you come here often?
I said no but do you have I boyfriend?
Because id like to get to know you

You said yeah but he's a bit of jerk
and I like those drink stains on your shirt
and id like to get to you know you too

I said well, then it's not the right time
because I want you for more than just one night
and id hate to start this off with a lie

So I kissed your cheek and I said goodbye
I could taste the salt that ran from your eye
it haunts me til the day I die
because I wish to god that I just did try
