Vacant

I drift aimlessly, through a valley floating, upon a shallow stream
of hope.
The sombre moon; casts a shadow of emptiness,
a reminder of how I feel
without you,

which..

..stretches the length of my misery;
plagued with the perpetual absence
of your love.

A drought; which I feel no stranger
to; but the pain wrenches my guts,
and is as close to you; as can I feel
within this vacancy

A void; that once filled the atmosphere;

..an atmosphere,
which felt alive; with you.
The air; an aroma of fresh lavender
that you always bathed in,
and you would snuggle up
close to me.

I would breathe
you in...

..soothing,

...sensation through my lungs.

Your radiant personality; so rich and colourful,
like that of a rose; unfurling; bursting
with beauty; with warmth that
blossomed your affection.

Petals; brushed your
softness upon
my lips.

But...

now there is not even
trickle of you; my throat
feels so dry!

The sparse moisture which now fills the air,
only dampens my spirit further,
as I sink down and lower through;
this desolate canyon; and the risk
I face of running aground, and
being stuck in this...

..damned rut!...

...alone..

...haunted by the sound of my tears;
echoing as they rattle around
in my hollow heart.
