I LOVE MY UGLY FEET!

I LOVE MY UGLY FEET

They help me hit the floor in the early morning after my long night snore, they do get upset when the floor is cold or wet, or when I must push them to get out the door. I must remind them not to kick the cat after they step on her tail, she always scratches and gives out an awful wail.

One night my feet took me to a Ball, my date was with Kate, wow, did she look great, she left the other gals fawning at the gate. On the dance floor we did whirl, my feet told her feet; you go girl! She said her name was Betty, I asked; how’s about you and I go steady and my name is Eddie. Meanwhile I wanted to get close to Kate and I put my foot on Betty, Kate let out a yell, I said; I’m so sorry but my feet have a mind of their own, sometimes my feet lose the beat.

Now back at home, just me and my feet, all my toes are singing the woe’s, off come the shoes and they all sigh with relief, I tell them forgive me for giving you such grief. I look at them and think wow you are really ugly looking, toes colored red pink and blue, what happened to those pretty pink feet Mum would kiss and play with them a peak a boo? Well I guess it was due to all those hard years on the Farm when I put them through hell. They may be weathered, callused, wrinkled, and achy but I still love them yet, faithfully they continue to take me where I need to get.

Me too Em, thank God for shoes! Every time we go to see our Son, Daughter-in-law and Grandson, I make sure to wear socks (I usually don't with my casual slip-on ) Erin( England born) has us remove our shoes and I would dread if she ever saw my ugly feet!

Ken, what a unique write! Had me laughing and nodding along. My husband likes to tease me about my "French-fry " toes. I don't have those cute feet either-:)

I love the wackiness of your poetry. The visuals and rhyming contour up such humourous images in my head. I think you would be really good at writing funny songs

Thanks Milly, you're not the only person who has told me that. When we hear songs, so many of them are poetry put to song.

Yay... your feet have a mind of their own and they appear to be rockin' like their owner...haha. Oh yes, no more baby feet, just the weathered and achy ones! I love this, Ken...enjoyed this a lot and once again put a genuine smile on my face.

Right on Mel, I remember when our daughter was about six months old, we would kiss those sweet little toes. Thanks for your nice comments.
