Mother

I turn around
to watch your cries
i see the fear
showing in your eyes
so afraid
of your little baby
all grown up
and oh so crazy
you saw my wrists
watched them bleed
told me to stop
started to plead
i yelled at you
to leave me be
and you just cried
so scared of me
i saw the disapointment
the honesty and pain
i saw the lost thoughts
driving you insane
i watched as you ran
and told my darling dad
you told him i was a mess
told him i'd been bad
i couldn't believe my eyes
as he came in the room
the shock on his face
his eyes filled with gloom
i slit my wrists in pain
scared to live another day
then hid them when you were near
afraid of what you would say
and now as you saw me there
you cried out your eyes
spread across the bathroom floor
you read my goodbyes
i was not watching you in life
but instead in death
i am but a ghost
since i took my last breath
