The ultimate heartbreak

Many things break my heart-
Such as the way kids sometimes talk to their parents,
Not realizing that they won't be around forever;
Or the way people treat animals with such cruelty,
Setting them on fire or cutting and tying them up,
Beating them until they can't breathe and then leaving them to die,
And the way it's been done to other human beings as well-
Breaks my heart and makes me sick.
But losing you...
It pulls and pulls until my heart feels like it's been ripped out of my chest;
Leaving an aching, empty void that brings me to my knees and
Makes me beg god to bring you back;
To give me a chance to do it right this time.
It brings hot tears to my eyes,
And forces sobs I didn't even know I had out of my chest and
Makes my hands shake uncontrollably until I'm lying in a makeup smeared mess on my living room floor.
I thought I knew what a really rough heartbreak felt like.
But losing you;
Losing you is the ultimate heartbreak.
