Will You?

by Allie   Aug 28, 2017

When the nights get longer and the dreams get worse. I'm not sure what there is to lose.

I need you as much as you need me. I need to feel that I'm not alone and that I'm safe right here.

When my chest tightens and my eyes start to sting, I need reassuring that I'm gonna be ok.

When I fall to my knees because I'm breaking in to a million pieces. I need you to put me back together.

I'm not saying it has to be perfect because we know that's impossible.
I'm not saying I can't do this alone because you know I can.

I'm not pleading for you to stick by my side and fill my emptiness with what you have left.

I'm asking that we stick together even when the times get rough. Even when it seems impossible under the crushing weight of everything on our shoulders.

All I want to know is if I let you lean on me, will you let me do the same?
