Whenever I'm Down

by Alex Penuelas   Sep 1, 2017

Whenever I'm down,
I would sometimes get into my car
and drive aimlessly around town
In order to piece back the
Broken puzzles in my mind.

Whenever I'm down,
I would travel westward to the beach,
And travel to the pier's end to
Stare endlessly into the sea's abyss,
In order to calm the tempests that
Have plagued my soul.

And now,
Whenever I'm down,
I write these poems for you.

So that you don't have to be down like me.

I enjoy the reflection in this piece and how it is not only clearing your head, but you're hoping to be there for someone else someday so they don't have to feel the entirety of the pain that has already been felt far too many times in this world.
