Communication

by Rey Severs   Sep 2, 2017

Words hold power, greater than a sword,
It has the ability to hinder or move us forward,
But what to do when your mouth is mute?
The insignificance of your speech is absolute.

What happens to words that pass us by,
Tongue held in mouth, proceeding to dry,
do they disappear into thin air?
For they are no longer held in memory's care.

So special, so unique, some words may be,
The power of some can set us free,
But when one is muted repeatedly,
It feels pointless to ever speak
We begin to lose our ability..
We forget..our communication is key.

I liked this a lot. It's so very true, so many things can silence our words. We become something other than ourselves if we get silenced for too long. Totally agree with your words-well done-

This is fantastic work...you have spoken for many people who can't speak their hearts out in times they should...including me. Communication is indeed the key, but when pride, ego or fear gets in, it is completely lost.

These lines resonates with me so much I've been stopped from speaking through abuse and my goodness does it make you feel inferior to anything and I often wondered where those words we choose not to say go well, the send us stir crazy!! X

Thank you, I am glad you enjoyed my work. I have been through abuse also, and it can kill us inside the more we bite down.
