We'll Never Find...

by Domenico Sottile   Sep 2, 2017

They are playing the song
that gave us our off-springs
The trips to that city
are still in my mind
perhaps in yours too

We’ll never find the life
that our love promised us
We search for our song
and those voyages
we still miss

One of those gave us the words
the other the notes
Yet one
unconditional love
The other
joy
pride
reason
us

These palms gave us a home
and that which we could have received
should have come from ourselves

Did we loose spontaneity?
Perhaps
I failed to point it out to you

I agree with Ben's comments. A very well written piece with sad undertones. Milly x

A really well written and delicate piece of poetry with a vein of sadness throughout.

    Take care,
