A Time For Rest:

by Scott Cole   Sep 3, 2017

The season has come
To sing lullabies,
To all those blossoms
That caught our eye.

All those flowers
That had their days,
Must pass the torch
And doze away.

For Fall is near
A chill in the air,
A time for sleep
So all beware.

Those tired colors
Barely hanging on,
Will find slumber
And all be gone.

And leaves of green
Will be nomore,
Their sheded skin
Has switched decor.

Their Autumn bliss
Now takes the stage,
Their hidden beauties
Now gracefully age.

The red and yellows
And golden bronze,
They touch our hearts
With pros and cons.

They spur the moment
But soon will fall,
So enjoy their views
Find peace in all.

For like the flowers
That amazed our eyes,
They must also hear
Those same lullabies.

When all is weary
They lay their heads,
Their exhausted Souls
Are then put to bed.

Scott, wonderfully written. Your rhyming is on point and it is a wonderful tribute to the showy flowers of summer and the coming beauty of fall.
