Ode To The Rescue Mission

by Mark   Sep 5, 2017

If ever empathy materialised
So it has within your walls
Brick upon brick
Cemented between perhaps,
Yet formed and strengthened
By all that is right and just in us as people.
The purpose, invisibly inked all over this monument to faith:
I welcome all who seek help from hellion and strive even inspite, to guide you to a heaven on earth.

O Rescue Mission of the inner city slums
Your light alike a shining in Hades
Your gates open to more, than heaven's doors would
Welcoming and undiscriminating all who sin and manner of.
Your trade; the epitome of impartiality.
Countless are there of you
So let this one symbolize all.

If a structure were to live and breathe
So it would here through the missionaries within
Whom face the deadly black hash
Adorning the armor of impenetrability to the burning pitch fork
Always in arms length of vein flowing poison.
Patient, patient and perseverant to reason
With the red diluted eyes and peeled scarred skin.
O bleeding heart of the city
Such burdens have you taken as your own.

Entering on their own volition
Following like a shadow
The devils resistance lingers within,
Who spit and curse upon compassion.
Thankless then, thankless are your works on many occasion.
What extraordinary being's
Who can see the beauty past the vile,
Whom embrace all as one connective spirit,
Launching selflessly into the core depths of urban suffering.
Oh envy and praise upon you
Ode to the Rescue Mission!
