winding road

by Fredy RoMa0u Sanchez   Sep 5, 2017

While walking alone in battered robes
I stumbled upon a lost broken road...
Where the dust had settled and the light was gone...
Where once with fate i meddled and the future was stone....
Such promise this road once held...
Only longing and sorrow now I felt...
The birds of prey all perched on the dead trees...
Impervious to the bite of the cold breeze...
The road was littered with corpses of ill advised decisions,
Lost long ago was my soul in this war of attrition....
I know now The winding road had robbed me of my will
Fresh on my memory the wounds bled still...
And yet... i kept on walking through
Dragging my feet as there was nothing else I could do...

This is so wonderfully put, Fredy. Flawless rhyming and really good flow. Ah, that road... We can do nothing but walk in it! Great work!
