Whatever

by Michael   Sep 7, 2017

I was the tested water; of their boundaries
their fingers never got burned; but I was still
wounded

I was given fruit; by their trusted palms
but they knew the bite was forbidden
Leaving me with the after taste

They said always tell the truth; so when
I did tell the truth; of their lies;
I was slayed a liar and told to stop telling tales;
so either way it didn’t matter..

..apart from the pain
of course!

I was told always keep to the right
side of the tracks; but never told why,
so my curious side turned left; and I
ended up the wrong side of the tracks

But when only a child
I really had no idea; what was really
the good or right thing to do

and maybe, I thought I cant
wait to see what school will
teach me!

I bear scars you cannot see; or,
the acrid taste; that repeats in me; nor,
show you the wrong side of the track; not
going to prove anything; going back

Well I don’t care if you
believe me..

..or not..

...anymore!
