Realising the truth

by deeplydesturbed   Sep 8, 2017

Black, darkness, yet oddly bright
Yearning for a satisfaction only you can bring
Screaming inside the mind, loud and destructive
Yet no sound escapes from these tightly sewn lips

I am in pain

Falling through the centre of earth
Down the tunnel of time itself
Life silently surrounding on either side as I fall
Images of each event on a slow replay for all to see

I am done

Hitting the ground with a hard thud
Yet nothing seems to be broken or sore
The tunnel above closes, making it darker
The screaming in the mind seems to halt

I am here

A single table in the centre of a wall less room
Yet the feeling of claustrophobia sets in
The air itself a certain thickness
Breathing becomes a challenge

I am ready

On the table a bottle of the best kind of sin
Upon it in an instant without fail
Without a thought in mind, raising it to ones lips
An eerily soft chuckling as the bottle reaches them

Sinning one last time

As soon as the liquid touches the lips
The bottle is pushed up to encourage it to pass through
With a sudden urgency, a swig is taken
And the peppery drink swallowed, followed by a sweet sigh

I am relieved

Looking up with surprise, a pair of red eyes appear
From deep within the darkness
They seem so far away, yet close enough to reach out and touch
Laughter emanating from them

I am scared

The room brightens as eyes adjust
To the new darkness thrust upon them
A man, nay a creature tall and broad
Standing not five feet away

Help me

The realisation setting in
That sin has once again won this battle
Standing in front of Lucifer himself as a spirit
One who’s body is laying undiscovered
In some alleyway
Covered in its own vile vomit
Lost, alone, forgotten…

Save me from myself before I fall too far..

Everything we need to know is already present in us.
The door is already there, but it's you and only you who can unlock it-no one else can.
And another truth is that without falling too deep you can't even find the door.

So falling is good, just fall in the right place.

Nams, what a very profound portrayal of the evil of addiction... Terrific visuals, I saw the Devil himself grinning. Yes, this truly deserves nomination. Great write here.
