You Caught Me

by Stephanie Tangedahl   Sep 10, 2017

I thought I was in love once
Though I never really knew
What love was truly like
Until the day that I met you

I was with a hateful "man"
Who hid behind a God
He had me fooled, he pulled me in
And put on a facade

You were there and caught me
When I completely fell apart
And all you had to offer
Was your kind and loving heart

I've never known a man to be
So caring, sweet and kind
Yet brave and strong and fearless
You're a type that's rare to find

I thought I was in love once
Though I never really knew
What love was truly like
Until the day that I met you.

Sorry I missed this littls gem... It's fluent and in its simplicity it's just extremely beautiful. The repetition really sets it off too

Nicely rhymed romantic piece written with a positive slant. Its lively to see more positive poetry coming through as there has been a strong lean towards dark and dismal recently. A piece that I think we can all relate to because you often have to kiss a few frogs before you find real love. An excellent piece. Milly x
