Vessel

by Paul Hirst   Sep 14, 2017

My heart broken inside this chest an empty vessel my Mary Celeste
Beating slow like the Albatross wings as lonely as the song he sings
Beating but as cold as Davey Jones lost and bloodless as his poor bones
My hearts hull pierced on the reef of unrequited love drowning in grief
Lonely Gull soars above the Sea as our love can never be .

The rhythm here is interesting and it worked a lot better than I expected at first glance of the piece. This write definitely tugged at my heartstrings, but it was also very cleverly penned.

This read so musical to me, I love it! Well written! But very sad.
