Loving All

In a country known for its friendliness
where we are all each other’s “mate”
How are we going backwards with certain things?
Why is it filled with such a hate?

Who cares who someone marries
It should be all about the love
Who is it who gets to decide
what messages are received from above?

So what if your religion says it’s wrong
How old is that story book again?
Why can’t people just allow it
Instead we get a waste of time campaign

They’re not hating on you
or hurting you at all
So why hate on them and their lifestyle
it’s time we had an overhaul

With all the war and rape
and death in this miserable world
Why is this even an issue still
The thought makes my mind curl

We accept all religions
And let them speak freely their belief
So let anyone marry anyone
And stop giving them such grief

I may not be gay myself
But I believe they still have basic rights
They’re still people after all
And shouldn’t have to try and fight

Girl and girl or man and man
Even trans or still unsure
I’m sorry this world shows you such disrespect
I’ll vote yes, that’s for sure..
