Shadow Tears

by Paul Hirst   Sep 15, 2017

Tears weep and slowly fall onto the bricks of this cold wall
Were I am sitting all alone frozen to the bone

Strange that on this Summers day that I should feel this way
Sunlight blazing through the trees but I'm in the shadows of misery

Should heartbreak feel so bad how can you lose what you never had
Now knowing that you lied and just set our vows aside is burning me up inside not cooled by these tears I cried

When I saw you kiss him in our park my sunlit day suddenly turned dark
You turned and saw me held his hand and was gone now only shadow memories linger on

Wedding vows and happy days are fractured pictures through a teary haze
All our happy loving years suddenly dissolved in shadow tears

This was dope. Nice traditions that paint pictures of your feelings.

Last two lines are extremely powerful.
    Nicely penned.
