Falling in love with you was like falling asleep..

Sometimes at night when I'm not tired but I know I need sleep
I lay in bed with my eyes closed;
And some nights I lay there
for hours before I finally manage to fall asleep.
My racing thoughts usually take a while to calm down but once they do
I slowly start to drift off to sleep;
Losing track of time.
I fall asleep before I realize it,
only knowing that I finally did at some point the next morning
when I wake up.
And that's what falling in love
with you has been like;
Falling asleep.
Slowly at first..
And then all at once.
