Nightfall and Shadows

by Maple Tree   Sep 25, 2017

I've scraped mountains
to bare witness of my
present visions, bony fingers
crumble.

Eyes have aged like petrafied wood
floating upon flood ridden rivers,
yet I see sunsets embedding ray's
of warmth, spun silk into my soul.

My body dangles from stars
as the moon whispers sonnets
to my memories, so demons
won't seep within my veins.

Accustomed to nightfall and shadows-
because I've given my soul to darkness
and sunrises will grant me reason to live;

one more day.

    Oh Andrea, this is just beautiful. So sad too, I feel your longing and need for comfort during these dark days you are going through. Stay strong, hugs-
