death on the battlefield

by Risqué   Sep 27, 2017

You are the cupid I never wanted.
Shooting your arrows across my battlefield
telling me you love me
through the onslaught of your broadheads
I do not want to fight this war

Do
you
not
hear
me
screaming?

My heavy feet carry this exhausted heart
clothed in bloodshead
soaked by misplaced trust and tears
I refuse to wave this flag

Refuse
to
let
you
win

For my love is not something that can be won
It was never up for grabs
and is not yours to declare as a victory
So may it die in the shadow of defeat
Before you are ever able to claim it.

Thank you, it's rather rare that I pay too much attention to presentation, but I found it fit well with this piece.

I agree with Brenda a visually interesting write. It can be quite difficult get rid of unwanted attention especially when it becomes obsession. Milly x

Another visually interesting write. Some people won't take not interested for an answer. Well done with this-
