My Questions

by Satish Verma   Sep 29, 2017

On wrong side of truth
a prophecy burns.
A conflict of your own choosing
when more was less.

Do you need some divine
intervention in resolving
human questions?

The innocence of a sunflower
will not blame the moon
for dark night.

To watch a huge fig tree
coming out of a tiny
seed to give shelter
to hundreds of passersby.

Are you overwhelmed
by the promise of unproven
auguries?

So here a prophecy has been proven false. What prophecy is the question. I reckon it may refer to famine or maybe wars that lead to humanitarian distasters.
The fig tree is used here to perhaps illustrate that just a few small seeds or actions can alleviate suffering.

The references to the divine may suggest we have no one to blame but ourselves.

The last stanza is directed to the reader. To paraphrase 'are you tired of false lies nd empty promises'?. Could be a comment on politics here, maybe that is what is questioned here. Hope i was close!
