Wrong To Belong

by Gwenyth Hill   Sep 30, 2017

They all connect so well
like missing pieces of the same puzzle
And I can see that I do not belong
That I won't fit and only cause trouble

But they try to include me
Make me feel like I belong
But I don't and it eludes me
What am I doing wrong?

They all smile, laugh and joke about
And I just sit there and sadly smile
Like I'm encased in a barrier
Which nobody can beguile

And I am happy for them
And how well they get along
But is it wrong for me to want
What they have, to belong?

This resonates so much with me that I found myself nodding along. Great rhyming and love the second stanza the most. My only advice (take it if you will) is to centre the piece as the lines are different lengths but that's just my opinion and one I learnt from someone on here

    Take care
