Mania

by Risqué   Oct 2, 2017

The madness has returned.

My world, now splattered in colour.
The brown of your eyes
and the red in mine.

I see grey, as the words you scream are dull and mute
I can't read them
But I can see them.

Black, as the ink from my pen
On this canvas and page...
Black as my heart these days

Gold, like the ring on your finger,
and the one absent from mine,
which had once been so strongly intertwined.

White, like the light;
two bright beams on the highway
racing towards me - calling my name

And pink across my skin
to replace the yearning there,
causing me to stay rather than leave.

Oh how I wish my life were void of any colour
back to the calm and quiet of my blindness
If only my mind was not of its own.

This is truly a wonderful piece of writing, I loved the way it flows and using colours to express emotions with a sadness throughout
    Well done
