Unmoved

by Saakiel   Oct 8, 2017

We met on the other side
to fulfill a vow we pact
long before. We walked into devouring
darker clouds, while drizzle danced along
the thicker mist, as I was
holding an umbrella that didn't move.

We stopped somewhere in the middle
stunned by the lightning we anticipated,
while you closed your eyes expecting
for a tremendous thunder, your hands
shaking covered your ears, and I
unmoved, looked up–stared the sky.

We returned to where it started,
realized to pave my way. I
asked you why, but you said
you don't deserve to be the
world. You left and walk into
your future, while I stayed, unmoved.

I like the motif of "umoved" thru-out this poem. Many times in life we anticipate, only to find ourselves unmoved. The last sentence really closes the whole poem with a touch of saddness. Well done.

Thank you so much Yogi73. I tried my hardest to keep 'unmoved' through the poem.
