Celebration of life and death

by deeplydesturbed   Oct 10, 2017

We start out as a tiny bean
A little gift from a heaven
Sometimes with a sibling or two
Left in a parents possession

Each year a new experience
New colours sounds and tastes explored
From a crying baby; toddler;
to a grumpy teenager, bored.

As a parent, time seems so fast
as a child it seems far to slow
A childhood filled with lots of laughs
Which continue as the child grows

When a child has a child themselves
Many decisions become clear
From the practical dressing down
to drinking less champagne and beer.

With each new generation born
the older ones seem forgotten
No longer able to live life
Spending days sewing with cotton

Eventually this life is gone
Taken back to where they came from
All that’s left is to celebrate
The many years we spent with them

The funeral will be a blast
With dancing, singing and music
She will be watching from above
Finding the whole thing amusing

    *Left in a parent's possession
*as a child it seems far too slow

*Which continue as the child grows
    Correction suggestion:
    "which continue as they grow."

This is a wonderful tribute to the cycle of life and death. A somber but beautiful experience, highlighted by a very potent and truthful piece.

    Love it dear,
