And I Wonder

by Scrittore   Oct 16, 2017

And she wondered
How the days turned to years
And smiles turned to tears
A heart that beated for one
But in exchange she received none
She gladly accepted at first
Never knowing her growing thirst
To be loved equally in return
By a man who gave no concern
Her expectations remained small
Though day by day she gave her all
Her love was supposed to be enough
"I'll carry the weight for both us"
But she proved unable to bear the strain
This type of love was impossible to maintain
So with a heavy heart she left behind
The one man she promised her life
And pay for it she will
To the end of time

I think she made the right choice and she should not be worry about anything.
