BEWARE THE DAY!

BEWARE THE DAY!

It’s Halloween, kids love it, Parents on it are not too keen but don’t want to be mean, it’s celebration can be downright obscene. The early days of Trick or Treat were neat, many little ragamuffins roamed the street, they collected much cookies and small change, when denied the spoils of their lore, a prank they left at the door.

Today, sadly, on these little one’s evil has come to prey, now on Halloween few of them are seen, at our door they would arrive with Parents by their side. The loot must be inspected as bad things into them have been injected to harm the ones who don’t expect it.

This special day which had Pagan origins was Christianized by the early Church to focus on the Saints but today it has morphed back into an evil thing, an excuse for some to go overboard and have their fling, at some of the Carnivals they don’t wear a thing! Ever wonder why eggs disappear off the shelves before that day, your car has become a four-wheel target much to your dismay, try and remove a dried egg on the paint by the way.

Many on that day resort to private parties which are safe, biting those apples in the bucket is much fun, enjoy the day with good and you will feel great when you finally hit the hay.

Note: My wife puts a basket filled with cookies and candy outside our front door with a sign that says; take one each, putting them on the honor system. The last Halloween, no kids came, then we had to eat all those goodies, what a shame.

Thank-you for the dedication that's very sweet of you. (I'm really very touched) :)

As usual you've managed to squeeze in so much, observations, history, religion and your trade mark humour. Just in time to get us thinking about candy tins, fancy dress and eggs. All my best wishes Milly x
