Rainbow

by naaz   Oct 19, 2017

Tell me, who is going to accept such a heart,
which is battered and bruised?
You have left a curse upon it; you did the crime,
an innocent has been accused.

How easily you forgot - with my own hands-
I had colored its walls with your name.
Now the rest of my life is going to spend
in making it whole once again.

Like a gardener, I watered it every day
and waited for love to bloom.
You plucked and gave it to someone else,
and left me with a rock of gloom.

Your golden boy might give you everything,
and still your life will search for hue.
Remember, if you ever want to witness the rainbow again,
come to the place which only we knew.

This really is lovely. It's so sad too. When someone tosses aside all you have to offer with no thoughts to your feelings it takes us a moment or two to recover. You will love again, you won't ever forget this person, nor will you forget the hurt, but we all move on, so we can live and love again. I love the rainbow references. It really is beautiful.

A lovely tale of unrequited love. So often loved ones are tempted away but I always think if they were tempted away so easily then they would never have truly deserved you. You can do so much better. He's just one of the many frogs you have to kiss before you find your forever love Milly x
