Do you know what it's like?

by Mahalia Butler   Oct 24, 2017

Do you know what it's like to be lost in a sea?
Then you'd know what it's like to always be me

Do you know what it's like to never be heard?
Then you'd know what it's like to never say a word.

Do you know what it's like to never be seen?
Then you'd know what it's like to be an invisible teen.

Do you know what it's like to never be enough?
Then you'd know what it's like having to be so tough.

Do you know what it's like to always be last?
Then you'd know what it's like to be an outcast.

Do you know what it's like to always be the one forgotten?
Then you'd know what like to see the love I've never gotten.

Do you know what it's like to constantly be hurt?
Then you too must be like me, a misunderstood introvert.

Invisible and mute to the world! A voice caged but not
heard or given an opportunity to be heard. Worst still been
labeled and not given the chance to be heard rather, a misunderstood
soul silently screaming to be seen, felt, touched and acknowledged.
Its not just a touching poem but a painful one for someone to
    live through.
