Butterflies Without Wings:

We're all just like caterpillars
Crawling through Life,
Unaware of the dangers
And all of it's strife.

Our soft bodies at risk
We're vulnerable for attacks,
From any outside transgressions
That make us backtrack.

There's threats all around us
We're hopeless to halt,
For we're weak minded creatures
That's not suited for assaults.

We're trapped and helpless
For our wings are tied,
And we're easily victimized
Because our ways are blind.

Just a feeble little caterpillar
With very little protection,
In a World full of Sin
Without any gratification.

But times do bring change
For each and everyone of us,
If we have Hope and Faith
And in God we do Trust.

For modifications are ahead
Our transformation is near,
When we become new creatures
With nothing to fear.

Our unrighteous temple
Then goes through a change,
Our future is certain
When our wings are obtained.

From opportunity comes growth
Through growth we're refreshed,
And when we finally do emerge
We're so thankful and blessed.

We're then released and set free
From our burdens once knew,
All those earthly disappointments
That we've suddenly outgrew.

As we spread our plush wings
Each set uniquely designed,
Yet everyone created equal
Though each one of a kind.

For all of us caterpillars
Have purpose and Worth,
That very second we're born
And placed on this Earth.

As we soar through the sky
On our path homeward bound,
Free from all those obstacles
That once held us down.

We've got gratitude on our faces
Our wings spread far and wide,
Because we've been born again
And have the Lord on our side.
