Thirst for Love

by Kasie   Oct 28, 2017

The loneliness has left its wicked charm,
And filled her heart with thirst for lustful fire.
Oh, how she longs to be in loving arms,
And feel the touch of passion and desire.

The sun could rise and light the endless skies,
But, it would not illuminate her days.
Oh, how she longs to feel sweet butterflies,
It’s the tingling sensation that she craves.

True love for her is just a fairy tale,
The thought of it just makes her hunger rage.
Oh, how she longs for passion’s holy grail,
That’s lost somewhere within a battered cage.

Romantic thoughts that linger in her mind,
Are only dreams of what might someday be.
Oh, how she longs to live a life refined,
That's full of pleasures, pure and truly free.

Hello, Kasie. Once again you have done magic with your beautiful rhyming. This was a full pleasure to read, the rhymes being so natural flowing and not a tiny bit forced.

The last line for me could do without "that's".
'Full of pleasures pure and truly free.'

I felt her plight...sometimes all we could ever want is to experience something genuine like love. :-)

Thank you, I'll work on the last line and see what I can do. To be honest, I wasn't sure about it either.
