My umbrella

by Beautiful Tragedy   Oct 30, 2017

When things get rough and I need someone with a listening ear
And an open mind,
I come to you.
I never want to blow your phone
up with my problems or cause you to worry about me;
But at the same time I know
that when I need unconditional support from someone I know who is willing to take a look at
my side of things you’ll be there,
every single time.
My friends can’t understand,
my family has their own problems
and they don’t really care;
And my dads attention span isn’t long enough for him to do it.
So I come to you.
I trust you,
But more than that I trust you’ll never do or say anything to
hurt me.
You don’t make me feel like how I feel is invalidated,
and that’s part of why you are so important to me.
No matter the storm,
You will always be my umbrella.

    BT, I am jealous of you.
    I wish I had someone with a listening ear.

    Beautiful T

    Such a heart- felt piece from you, that captures your trust in someone and be able to talk to them about anything that is on your mind. It so difficult when others are unavailable for what ever reasons, and the need for someone to be there at times.
    A nice flow with your emotions and the ending says no matter what there is shelter.
    I really enjoyed this piece and worthy of my nomination :0
    Much love

    When we find someone like this, we are lucky indeed. Well expressed.

    And I am left humming Rihanna's 'umbrella' as I leave the page...

    Take care
