THE SNOWBIRDS ARE HERE!

THE SNOWBIRDS ARE HERE!

This can bring some fear as more road accidents appear, but only for this time of the year! Our local Merchants hold them dear, we, the settled folks show them no malice even though they view us as living in a Paradise, in our own Palace, we instead make them a focus of some of our *jokes.

Their yearly returning keeps our area businesses’ earning, that helps keep our Taxes low, love the two-fer dinners available wherever you go, when the Birds leave the Entrepreneurs grieve. The Merchants must tighten their belts, our summertime hot Sun can spoil much outdoor fun, good entertainment becomes harder to find, some settle for the off-color comedian jokes or the funny Karaoke Bars filled with smoke.

During this season of beautiful weather, our roads are filled with many drivers, getting to work becomes a work of art, as you hit the brakes you say to your passenger friend; did you see that old fart.

Many of the drivers are old, many stories of accidents can be told, some especially of the young, who weave in and out and can be very bold, Road Rage is very real, it has put some people in Jail, if they were nice, they could be going for a Sail.

*One of my silly jokes about our beloved Snowbirds is that we must drive defensively because they have Prescription Windshields and may need an adjustment.

Thanks Mel, here in Southwest Florida that is a yearly event, the Snowbirds flew down here early after Hurricane Irma hit us, the poor Birds saw much damage to their seasonal homes and properties. You can't believe the amount of Trees, Palms that were laying all around, we drove past a makeshift dump for the horticulture, acres of it and like 30 feet high, this is what happens when you have 140 mph winds!
